Waiting in JFK... again.
There's a family sitting next to me with white sneakers, fanny packs, and Cabana shirts (plus, one in a visor) as we get ready to board. Ugh... I'm so grateful for first class.
Our flight is delayed. They said it's weather in Ft. Lauderdale but I happen to know the skies are clear there. I own a property there with a webcam that looks out on the tennis courts. There's no "weather problem" in Ft. Lauderdale, I can assure you. I can see it on my laptop as I write this.
As I sit here and thank my lucky stars for all my achievements and wealth, I wonder what it must be like to be these "people" sitting next to me. Life was probably simpler then. Makes me want to call my brother Richard. He's a loser. Works for my great uncle Melvin at "Stan's Sideburns and Such." Richard sweeps up the store. He says it's a good job with a schedule that allows him to work on his passion -- writing. I still think he's just a loser.
But I should call him, though.
It's funny how delays help you think about what's important.
Looks like we're about to board. FINALLY! I hope I don't sit by any weirdos.
C.W.
